Parish Reps

In order to improve the profile of Cursillo in the Diocese, the Secretariat is compiling a list of Parish representatives. The representative would the focal point for Cursillo in the Parish. In general, they would inform the pastor that questions about Cursillo should be directed to them, ensure that brochures are available, and in general make the Parish aware of what Cursillo is about.

If you could assist us in this endeavour, (and do a little evangelisation), please contact Rodney Bell at rodney.bell@sympatico.ca or 519-856-4949

2009 Conference Update

The 2009 Conference is being held in Waterloo at Wilfrid Laurier University July 2 -5, 2009. Instead of the usual conference format we will be holding a Cursillo of Cursillos.

What is a Cursillo of Cursillos? It is a Cursillo, (meaning short course), and as such is the means to facilitate, for those who live it, a channel for the ideas and the fire in our hearts which enables us to carry out those ideas.

It is NOT a Cursillo weekend as we know it. It would be wrong if a person attends only to find ideas or topics to enable them to know more about Cursillo without having the proper attitude to carry them out and it would also be a deception for those who are only looking for a spiritual push to motivate them to continue in what they already do, thinking that what they are doing is the best way. (Miguel Sureda, Cursillo of Cursillos, Mallorca).

Its purpose is to enable us all to come to a deeper and more accurate understanding of the mentality and the method and to generate the enthusiasm and perseverance necessary for putting the ideas into practice in the marketplace of our everyday lives.

Those who attended the Cursillo of Cursillos in Mallorca in November of 2007 came away with a renewed understanding and a renewed commitment and above all, a new enthusiasm.

The Cursillo of Cursillos is run just like a Cursillo weekend with:

We are extremely grateful to God for the presence of Miguel Sureda of the Mallorcan secretariat who will act as the rector of the weekend.
Attendance is limited to 120 persons so early registration is essential.

Witness talk

Please send me (drmilne@sympatico.ca) any talks you think should be published so we can publish a witness talk every month.  Please realize that I will have to use my judgment on whether or not a talk is published so it's possible that not every talk will get published.

Life Is A Stopping Place

Life is but a stopping place
a pause in what’s to be
a resting place along the road
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
we all were meant
to learn some things,
But never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place
far greater than we know.
For some, the journey’s quicker,
for some the journey’s slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
we’ll claim a great reward
and find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.
