Candidates for a Cursillo are chosen and prepared by a sponsor ( a person who has made a Cursillo). We call the period of preparation 'The Precursillo'. In the Precursillo, the sponsor will invite you to attend an Ultreya (which means 'onward') group to meet other Cursillistas (those who have made a Cursillo Weekend) and candidates in preparation to make a weekend.

The preparation period helps the candidate benefit from the Cursillo and join a Friendship Group reunion or community in the Postcursillo (or fourth day) The totality of Cursillo is the 'fourth day', the Postcursillo, which is forever.
